Liberty Day - March 16, 2005
A group of 24 Liberty Day Kids from home school families in the Boston area went to the capitol in Boston on Wednesday, March 16, 2005, Liberty Day, the birthday of James Madison, the 'Father of the Constitution', to give out Constitutions (Liberty Day books) to everyone and to quiz people about the Constitution. These Liberty Day Kids have been recruited by Tami Rosenblatt from the Family Resource Center.
Governor Mitt Romney has issued a proclamation proclaiming March 16, 2005, as Liberty Day in Massachusetts. Thank you Governor Romney for your support in educating the citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts about the founding documents of America, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Legislature is working on a legislative resolution for Liberty Day. Thanks to Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives Salvatore DiMasi and his assistant Donna Sweeney for their support in getting this resolution through the House. We would also like to thank President of the Massachusetts Senate, Robert Travaglini, for his support.
