Volunteerism as a donation

Businesses and individuals may give their time and expertise by assisting in the areas of Administration, Marketing & Inventory Maintenance including:

Database/Telecommunication Assistance:

  • Take phone messages – we don’t have a voicemail answering system
  • Faxing - This job contains an on-site presence.   This coincides with the phone duties.
  • Calling school administrators/teachers interested in Liberty Day and Liberty Day Kids
  • Calling service organizations for adopting classes for LD Kids
  • Review other non-profits and possible funding groups
  • Date input on computer updating and maintenance
  • Web research (requires internet access and can be conducted in home)
  • Mass mailings
    • Follow-up to the telemarketing research on previous donors. Those historical Donors need to be sent updates.
    • Newly contacted donors, service organizations, schools and teachers sent info
  • Mail merges
    • Historically, this will be quarterly. The mail merge program will be to selected Corporations and large dollar personal funders.
  • Create and update ACT database
    • Maintain the data base is the strongest need.   Once an ACT data base is developed, an on-going revision and update is needed to be done monthly.

Marketing

  • Help with public relations in the areas of business, government and civic groups
  • Help develop online, print, and direct mail marketing strategies
  • Help develop a telemarketing program (i.e. contacting all former donors, etc.)

Supply/Inventory Maintenance

  • Maintain inventory of t-shirts, booklets and Q & A cards
  • Put together Liberty Day Kids kits - This activity involves copying and collating about 30 different endorsements. Packets are prepared weekly and we need to have 10 – 15 always ready for mailing
  • Reporting inventory levels / replacement needs
