The Liberty Day Institute is proud to announce that our partners at the Denver-based Daniels Fund have awarded a grant of $50,000 for our Colorado James Madison Initiative!
The James Madison Initiative is a program to educate Colorado’s 5th graders about the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence, to be supplemented by volunteer classroom speakers.
Established in 1996, Liberty Day Institute distributes pocket-sized copies of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence, flashcards, and teaching resources to students and teachers throughout the country. Volunteer elected officials, attorneys and others then visit classes to review the materials with the students.
“Liberty Day Institute has long been dedicated to the mission of ‘educating youth and keeping the Republic’ by fostering relationships with teachers, parents and community members to enhance the learning experience for students,” said Jimmy Sengenberger, President and CEO. “We are very excited to be graciously awarded this incredible opportunity to make a difference in the lives of 5th graders learning about American liberty and government for the first time.”
Liberty Day Institute’s next goal for Colorado is to raise $25,000 in matching funds to fully fund the $75,000 budget for the state. To make a tax-deductible contribution to this important effort, you can donate online HERE or mail a check to: Liberty Day Institute, 3443 S. Galena St., Suite 120, Denver, CO 80231.
